About this policy

This policy explains how personal information is handled when you visit growgulak.com, create a GrowGulak account, contact us, or interact with GrowGulak features enabled by a Shopify merchant. Those features include shopping assistance, checkout recovery, order verification, campaigns and storefront tracking. A merchant's own privacy policy also applies when you shop with that merchant.

Who we are

GrowGulak is a brand and product operated by GrowCommerce, Holambi Kalan, Delhi 82, India. In this Privacy Policy, "GrowGulak", "we", "us", and "our" refer to GrowCommerce in its operation of the GrowGulak platform. Contact [email protected] about this policy or your information. We manage merchant account information for operating our service. Merchants determine how their shoppers' information is used through the features they enable; we process that information to provide those features.

Information processed

Account information includes the email address used to sign in, store details, Shopify installation permissions and team access. Depending on the features a merchant enables, we receive product and order information, customer names and contact details, shipping and billing addresses, abandoned checkouts, message and delivery history, consent and suppression records, and storefront events. AI support processes messages, conversation history and store information supplied by the merchant. We also receive information you send when contacting us. Technical records include authentication, access and error information.

Why we process information

We use information to connect Shopify stores, answer shopping and order questions, route support requests, verify COD orders, deliver order updates, recover checkouts, run merchant-configured campaigns, report results, secure the service, and respond to privacy requests. Merchants are responsible for having permission to upload their knowledge and contact their customers. Where applicable, processing is based on providing the requested service, consent for activities that require it, and legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, subject to applicable rights. Merchants are responsible for the lawful basis for their customer-data instructions.

AI support

AI features use available Shopify product and public policy information to generate responses. Responses can be inaccurate and should be checked before consequential decisions. The agent does not cancel orders or issue refunds. Contact the merchant for cancellation or refund requests. Avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information in conversations or knowledge. Provider handling is described below.

Service providers and processing locations

GrowCommerce uses Amazon Web Services for hosting, Meta for connected WhatsApp messaging, and Amazon Simple Email Service for email delivery. Cloudflare protects our public website, and Google Analytics measures website use. Information is shared with these services for their respective functions. When a merchant connects another messaging or integration provider, information needed for that feature is sent to the connected service.

AI provider handling

To generate shopping replies, GrowGulak sends the shopper's message, recent conversation context and relevant product information to the configured AI service. Conversation history is stored so shoppers can continue a chat and merchants can review it. Please avoid including sensitive information that is unnecessary for your question. Contact us if you need details about the AI service's handling of information.

International transfers

GrowCommerce hosts GrowGulak in India. Connected messaging, email, analytics and AI services may process information in other countries. Processing locations depend on the service involved. Contact us for information about the providers and transfer arrangements applicable to your data.

Consent and communications

Our Shopify storefront tracking checks Shopify's customer privacy choices. Merchants must separately obtain any consent required for marketing messages and honour opt-outs. Shoppers can contact the store about marketing preferences; tracking consent is not consent to every marketing channel.

Retention and deletion

Customer data exports are encrypted and available for 30 days after preparation. Privacy requests must be fulfilled within 30 days of receipt. An organisation owner can uninstall the Shopify app and delete the organisation from Profile. Shopify shop-redaction requests also trigger store-data deletion. Deleting one organisation preserves the login account and other organisations. Customer erasure removes identified records and matching copies; keyed identifiers can be retained within the store to prevent reimporting erased data. Shopping conversations expire 30 days after creation and are removed by scheduled cleanup. WhatsApp shopping sessions are removed after 30 days without an incoming message. For connected Instagram features, messages older than 30 days and conversations inactive for 30 days are removed by scheduled cleanup. These periods are not a universal expiry for account, order, customer or campaign records, which are handled through the deletion processes described here. They also do not establish a deletion deadline for infrastructure backups or copies held by connected providers. Contact us about retention for a particular record or service.

Your privacy rights

Contact the store where you shopped to request access, correction, or deletion of shopping information. Merchants can submit customer requests through Shopify and manage the resulting requests in GrowGulak. Contact [email protected] for account deletion, questions, or help exercising applicable rights, including access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction, portability, and withdrawal of consent. We may verify identity before responding. You may also complain to your relevant data protection authority.

Our website links to Shopify and our social profiles on LinkedIn, Instagram and X. Visiting those services is subject to their own privacy policies. Merchants may also connect messaging and other service accounts to GrowGulak; the relevant provider's terms and privacy practices apply to information handled by that provider.

Policy changes

We will update the effective date when this policy changes and communicate material changes through appropriate service channels.
